KAYLEIGH MACILWRAITH-CHRISTIE sadly passed away on 14.07.06. She was only 15 years of age. Kayleigh
had an epileptic fit and sadly the ambulance took too long to come and had no Paramedic on board. To
read the full story and see newspaper articles and also pictures of us delivering a 15,850 petition
to Downing Street, calling for a Paramedic to be on all ambulances. please go to:

Kayleigh Macilwraith-Christie known to many as Kayleigh Christie was born on November 24th 1990 at
Whittington Hospital. She had two brothers, Steven and Paul from her mum Jean Murphy. She also had a
brother Kyle and a sister Tara from her dad.
She was a happy baby and as she grew into a toddler she was always laughing and singing.

She attended Goodinge Nursery and then went to Robert Blair Primary School. She was known by
teacher's and helpers as being happy and bubbly.

She started to go to Lumpy Hill Adventure Playground at the age of 5 and loved the freedom of the
outdoors.

She also used to go to the Drovers Day Centre where her mum was a volunteer. Kayleigh used to enjoy
listening to the old people's stories and watching them line-dancing. The old people used to
look forward to her visiting and were always asking Jean to bring her over.

BECOMING AN AUNTIE

Kayleigh first became an auntie in 1999, she was 9 years of age. Her brother Paul and his partner
Laura had a baby named Ellie. Kayleigh was over the moon and enjoyed being an auntie.

STORMONT HOUSE SCHOOL.

Kayleigh attended Stormont House at the age of 11. Kayleigh suffered from epilepsy. Her mum decided
to send her there because of her illness. Jean felt safer because Kayleigh got picked up and dropped
to school and brought back home. There were also qualified first aiders there. Whilst attending
school Kayleigh received loads of awards and certificates. In October 2003.
Kayleigh received the Jack Petchey Achievement Award.
She was well liked by both staff and pupils. Kayleigh could not tolerate
bullying and helped to stamp it out at both school and Lumpy Hill Adventure
Playground. She also didn't like to see anyone left out.

LUMPY HILL ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND.

Kayleigh started attending Lumpy at the age of 5 and loved being over there. She loved playing with
the other children who lived on the nearby Market Estate. There was always things going on such as
making open fires, arts & crafts, pottery and candle-making, baking & cooking and playing on
the structures.

As Kayleigh got older, she became a Youth Mentor, which meant that she would work alongside the
Playworker's. She set up activities and liked to do arts & crafts with the children and
also shadowed the new attenders (5 year old). Kayleigh was also a qualified first aider.

Kayleigh became the Piped Piper of Lumpy Hill, with children following her about and hanging off
her. She was an expert at pushing the children on the round the world swing.

Kayleigh wasn't your typical teenager, she wasn't out drinking and smoking and hanging out
on the street. She was considerate, caring, helpful, happy-go-lucky.

A example of this was when a new family arrived in the area, a single parent with 8 children.
Kayleigh introduced herself and welcomed the family to the area, she invited them over to Lumpy Hill
and took them under her wing. Somewhere where the children could go and play safely.

BECOMING AN AUNTIE FOR THE SECOND TIME.

Kayleigh became an auntie for the second time in 2002. She was 12 years of age. Her brother Paul and
his partner Laura had another daughter named Amie. Kayleigh was proud of her two nieces.

LUMPY HILL'S TALENT COMPETITION.

Kayleigh was one of many who entered the X Factor Talent Competition at Lumpy. She loved to sing,
from a very young age. She loved to sing Celine Dion "My heart will go on" (Love theme
from Titanic) and Whitney Houston "I will always love you". Which she sang perfectly.
Kayleigh sang "I will always love you" solo.
Kayleigh won the competition hands down, it was an unanimous decision by all three judges.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN KAYLEIGH'S LAST WEEK.

Kayleigh had a lot of achievements in the last week of her life.

Tue 11th July 06: A launch event on Market Estate, Kayleigh's art work was put up on hoardings
in Market Estate alongside ten other young people.

Wed 12th July 06:Kayleigh was the only one in her school to receive The Award for Outstanding
Achievement in school. She was nominated by her teachers.
Kayleigh attended a consultation with a group of young people to discuss what
they wanted to do in youth club.

Fri 14th July 06: Kayleigh had an excellent report from school. Which she was very proud of.

Sadly Kayleigh passed away at 8.30pm the night of the 14th July 2006.

Tributes for this weekend

FOR FRIDAY

Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
To sweet eternity.

We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We are all meant to learn some things,
But never meant to stay.

Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know,
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.

But when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the Lord.

FOR SATURDAY

Right now I'm in a different place
And though we seem apart
I'm closer than I ever was
... I'm there inside your heart

I'm with you when you greet each day
And while the sun shines bright
I'm there to share the sunsets, too
... I'm with you every night

I'm with you when the times are good
To share a laugh or two,
And if a tear should start to fall
... I'll still be there for you

And when that day arrives
That we no longer are apart,
I'll smile and hold you close to me
Forever in my heart

FOR SUNDAY

I lose my grip on reality
On each day that passes by;
I haven't a clue where I'm headed
Oh how this pain makes me cry

My world is changing so quickly
And I'm losing everything in sight;
Why can't things go back to how it used to be
So that everything would be alright

Why do we have to lose the ones we love
It's just not fair, it's just not right;
Oh why God do you take them
Can't you see, I'm filled with fright

The days come and go
But the pain, it stays forever;
It never really leaves your soul
When you know, you'll no longer be together

Your heart, it's ripped wide open
And even though you try to hide;
It will break and bleed continuously
And feel as though it will never subside

I can take this pain no longer
Oh how it's killing me inside;
What suffering we have to go through
When the ones we love, have died

KALEIGH

Dear Kayleigh,
I cant beleive its 3 years today since you went a way.
But I want you to know not a day goes by that I dont miss you I think of you all the time and my love is with you the bond we have cant be broken.
How I wish I could kiss and cuddle you and tell you just how much you are loved.
I want you to know how you was the bright spark of my life and how I loved watching you grow into the most kind and caring young lady who was always nice and helpfull and I want you to know you made me so very proud of you always.
I so hope there is an afterlife and one day we will be together again.
You are sadly missed by all who loved you and that is so many people.
Mummy is so very sad without you and missing you so very much.
I think of all the fun things you said and done and how happy and full of laughter you always was and then I feel so very sad that you have gone.
I will always love you my darling.

Love your very sad mummy God Bless you.

DEAR KAYLEIGH,

God knew that you were suffering,
That the hills were hard to climb,
So He gently closed your eyelids,
And whispered "Peace be thine".
In tears we watched you sinking,
We watched you fade away.
Our hearts were nearly broken,
You fought so hard to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain,
We could not wish you back,
To suffer that again.
It broke our hearts to see you go,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

LOVE AND HUGS TO A VERY SPECIAL ANGEL

ESPECIALLY FOR KAYLEIGH

Time may heal the sadness
Like a smile can hide a tear,
But our memories will not forget
Our Kayleigh we loved so dear.
To us you were so special,
What else is there to say?
Except to wish with all our hearts
That you were here today.

GOD BLESS YOU

Up in the sky our angels sleep
The beautiful angels
that we wanted to keep

As we sit here all alone
we think of only you
We think of how we love you
And how much we miss you too

We miss you like crazy
We sometimes think we are going mad
We simply can’t stop thinking
Of the beautiful angel we had

The minutes feel like hours
Hours feel like days
The clock is ticking so slowly
Since the day you went away

We know life goes on without you
We do try to get through
But life will never be as nice
As life was when we had you

A MESSAGE FOR KAYLEIGH

My dearest darling Daughter,
How can I find the words to say
To tell of how I miss you,
Throughout every single day.
I miss our little chats –
The way you’d listen to me moan.
And how you always cheered me up
Whenever you would phone.
Living life without you,
Is so very hard to bear.
And I’d give all I have to waken
And to see you standing there.

THE GIFT OF MEMORY……

One gift, above all others
God gives to us to treasure
One that knows no time, no place
And one gold cannot measure

The precious, poignant tender gift
Of Memory...that will keep
Of dear ones ever in our hearts
Although God gives them sleep

It brings back long remembered things
A song, a word, a smile
And the world's a better place
...because
We had them for awhile!

I AM YOUR ANGEL......

I am an angel by your side,
Don't be scared or try to hide.
For I am here guiding you the way,
By your side here to stay.....

I will be with you, when times are hard,
So please do not worry, or put up a guard.
For I want you too see I am still here,
To keep you safe, and keep you near....

As an angel I want so much for you to know,
'How much I Love And Miss You So'
So if you see me, please do not hide,
I am the angel by your side...

Family Chain

We little knew that morning,
God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

I PROMISE I WILL HEAR…..

Don't think of me as dead and gone
Please understand I have just moved on
God took my hand
When you thought I had died

And led me over to the other side.
There's a better life
Than the one we know
And to it one day we all must go

No more pain, hardship,
Or times of misery
Instead there's all our loved ones
As happy as can be.

You may not see me for a little while
Hear me laugh or see me smile
But I promise you with all my heart
From the ones I love I will never part.

I will always be with you,
However far you walk
I will always listen,
When you feel you need to talk

So when you are saddened
Or driven to despair
Take comfort from the knowledge
That I am always there.

One day soon I will share with you
The happiness I have found
And you will see life doesn't end
Six feet beneath the ground

Forget about graveside visits
And fresh flowers every day
A yearly verse in the papers
Is surely not the way

When there is something you want to say
Or you wish that I was near
Just talk to me like you always did
I promise I will hear.
